Permanent eyeliners or lash-enhancement tattoo is a semi-permanent treatment that places pigment along your top or bottom lash lines

The tattoo itself can be super thick or as thin as your own natural lashes, and it can have a flick or extended tip. But the best way to do it is just to fill in the lash line to create the illusion of thicker, darker, and completely fuller lashes without looking lined or like obvious makeup

Although it's called permanent eyeliner, eyeliner tattoos are actually semi-permanent, which means if you want it to last forever, you'll have to get it touched up as it fades. You can expect your semi-permanent eyeliner to hold out for three to five years, or forever for some clients. There are many factors that decide how long the liners stay, but even when they are faded, the residue of colour will be still there, they would never completely fade away- that some thing to consider if you want a super thick liner or a big cat eye liner.

Is this painful? The process does involve a tattoo machine pushing ink into your delicate eyelid skin, so it's not going to feel like nothing. However there are topical numbing cream and gel to keep you comfortable during the process

Before your appointment avoid blood thinners, including red wine, Aspirin, Advil, and Aleve, beforehand to prevent bleeding and bruising, and make sure you haven't taken Accutane (a form of vitamin A and is used to treat severe nodular acne ) within six months of getting tattooed, because it can affect your healing process

Healing process

Day 1- Day 4 : As the skin in the eye area is very thin and swells up with pretty much any manipulation , after the treatment eyeliner can be swollen and puffy . To take down some of the swelling, apply a warm teabag or warm compress to the area.

Eyeliner also feel like bruising , burning or itchy for a few days

You should avoid water and contacts entirely for the first 48 hours.

Day 7-14 : Crust start forming, don't pick, scratch, peel, or even think about touching them. The liners may look noticeably light after the scabs fall off. But colour will gradually return

It could take three to four weeks for the area to totally heal, at which point you may want a few touch-ups, depending on how the pigment looks.

You can't wear makeup on or anywhere near your eyeliner tattoos until it's totally healed. And once you do start wearing it again, buy NEW mascara and other eye products ( old ones are full of bacteria ) to avoid accidentally infecting the area if it isn't fully healed yet.
