IPL Hair removal

IPL hair removal (Intense Pulsed Light) is a long-term hair reduction treatment that uses controlled pulses of broad-spectrum light to target the pigment (melanin) in hair follicles. The light energy converts to heat, damaging the follicle and slowing or preventing future hair growth. Over a course of treatments, hair becomes finer, lighter, and grows back much more slowly.

During the appointment, a cooling gel is applied to the skin and a handheld device delivers quick flashes of light to the treatment area. Most people describe the sensation as a mild snapping feeling similar to a rubber band, and sessions are relatively fast depending on the size of the area being treated. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions (usually 6–10 treatments spaced a few weeks apart) are required to target hairs in their active growth phase.

IPL works best on dark hair because the light targets pigment, making it less effective on very blonde, grey, or red hair. It can be used on areas such as the face, underarms, legs, bikini line, back, and chest. Over time, results provide long-lasting reduction rather than instant permanent removal, with occasional maintenance sessions recommended.

After treatment, the skin may appear slightly pink or warm for a few hours. Proper aftercare includes avoiding sun exposure, heat treatments, and active skincare for several days. With consistent sessions and good aftercare, IPL offers a safe, convenient, and effective way to significantly reduce unwanted hair growth.
